Canyon Vermillon Series
The Vermilion River meanders deeply through Illinois' Grand Prairie glacial deposits, exposing scenic, steep, valley slopes with high bluffs of geological note. The valley's unique flora and fauna are highlighted in several adjacent natural areas and nature preserves, both forested and prairie, along with the river's recreational and historical characteristics. Similar to the Sangamon, the Vermilion runs near the original workshop I started during the time I studied physics at the University of Illinois.
The Vermilion Family instruments have a beautiful classic “slot head” headstock. The body is a true parlor shape and size reminiscent of the instruments of the 1900’s. The design utilizes a unique 13 fret neck to body that allows the Levinson Radial Projection Bridge to be perfectly matched to the bracing geometry to produce a big sound from a small body. All Vermilion models have a 44.5 mm width neck for optimized finger-style playing.
