Sangamon River Series
The Sangamon River flows through central Illinois near the place where I had my first workshop. Both visually and acoustically appealing, these instruments project a powerful voice with great balance and tonal complexity. The exceptionally deep sides increase the instrument’s physical volume and change the timbre to give a full, well rounded tone with excellent sustain while maintaining the fine articulation that defines each note.
Simplicity of design and the sheer beauty of the utilized materials give the Sangamon its unique appeal. The narrow waist and the balance of the upper and lower bouts complement each other to produce a rich voice with great balance and tonal complexity – and in the LS-43 a voice of unbelievable power with exceptionally open tone and a dynamic range unheard of in a concert sized instrument. From delicate finger style to acoustic power chords, the Engelmann / Indian Rosewood combination of the LS-43 masters all.
